North Georgia Jaycees Hosting Celebrity Softball Game

The North Georgia Jaycees will host the third annual Jaycees Celebrity Softball Game on Sunday, April 17, 2011 at 4pm at the Clarke Central High School baseball field.

The family-friendly event is a fundraiser benefiting the Loran Smith Center for Cancer Support. The Jaycees chose the Loran Smith Center for Cancer support as this year’s beneficiary to further promote awareness and education about prostate cancer.

“We’re really excited about the opportunity to bring local celebrities and the Loran Smith Center for Cancer Support together with the Jaycees to have a great time for a great cause,” said North Georgia Jaycees member and Event Chairman Shadi Issa.

The game will feature local celebrities like Sheriff Ira Edwards; Director of Football Operations at University of Georgia Josh Brooks; former UGA football standouts Damien Gary and Kelin Johnson; local radio hosts Chris Brame, Kris Harris and many others.

Starting quarterback for the 2011 Georgia Bulldogs, Aaron Murray, will throw out the ceremonial first pitch. Current players Orson Charles and Tavarres King will be on hand to sign autographs.
